Flexible Pad Positioning to Suit Your Dog
Not all male dogs are the same shape, and the area requiring absorbent protection can vary depending on your dog’s anatomy.
Our Male Adjustable Nappy offers several ways to position compatible Glenndarcy washable pads, helping you find the most effective arrangement for your individual dog.
Option 1: Sideways Position
Position the washable pad across the width of the nappy, similar to the arrangement used in a traditional male dog belly band.
Option 2: Lengthways Position (Head to Tail)
Position the pad along the length of the nappy. This may be particularly useful for dogs requiring absorbent coverage further back towards or between their hind legs.
Option 3: Two-Pad Coverage
Use two compatible washable pads in different directions to provide a wider area of absorbent coverage.
Our washable pads attach to the internal poppers, helping keep them in position during normal wear.
You may need to experiment with pad placement to discover which arrangement provides the best coverage for your dog.
Important: Using two pads can increase the area of coverage, but does not guarantee leak prevention. Pads should always be checked regularly and replaced when wet.
Choosing Washable or Disposable Pads
Glenndarcy Washable Eco Pads
Our waterproof-backed washable Eco Pads are available in the following sizes for male adjustable pants:
- XS and Small: Size A
- Medium: Size C
- Medium Long, Large and XL: Size D
Our reusable absorbent pads are designed to attach to the internal poppers of compatible Glenndarcy products, keeping them securely positioned.
The six-layer construction combines a moisture-wicking top surface, absorbent bamboo-cotton layers and a waterproof backing.
An option to purchase two compatible washable pads is available with this product. Additional pads can be purchased separately, which is particularly useful when others are in the wash.

Disposable Absorbent Pads
Prefer disposable protection? Suitable human incontinence pads, absorbent liners or baby nappies may also be used.
Adhesive-backed pads can be helpful for keeping disposable protection in position. For dogs producing larger quantities of urine, an appropriately sized disposable baby nappy may offer an alternative absorbency option, including overnight.
Always ensure the chosen pad fits comfortably without causing excessive bulk, pressure or rubbing.
Remember: The waterproof nappy itself is not absorbent. An appropriate washable or disposable absorbent pad is required.
How to Fit Your Male Adjustable Dog Nappy
Our adjustable design offers two key areas of adjustment to help accommodate different body shapes.
1. Tail-Hole and Body-Length Adjustment
The tail section provides a small amount of adjustment to accommodate your dog’s tail position and slightly alter the overall length of the nappy.
This may be particularly helpful for male dogs requiring additional length for comfortable coverage, including some unneutered dogs.
Loosely position the nappy against your dog to establish the most suitable setting.
Remove the nappy before securing the appropriate poppers, then gently guide your dog’s tail through the tail opening when putting it on.
2. Adjustable Waistband
Fasten the waistband using the popper positions that provide a secure but comfortable fit.
The waistband should sit snugly without digging into your dog’s skin or restricting normal movement.
Check that your dog can walk, sit and lie down comfortably.
3. Position Your Absorbent Pad
Attach a compatible washable pad to the internal poppers in your chosen direction.
Alternatively, position a suitable disposable absorbent pad inside the nappy.
Make sure the absorbent area covers the part of your dog’s anatomy that needs protection.
Choosing the Right Size

For the most accurate fit:
- Measure your dog while standing naturally.
- Consider how their body shape changes when sitting or lying down.
- Allow for a thick or fluffy coat.
- Consider the thickness and type of absorbent pad you intend to use.
- If your dog is close to the upper end of a size range, consider whether the next size will provide more comfortable coverage.
Dogs come in all shapes and proportions. Waist size alone may not guarantee the best fit, so consider your dog’s overall body length, tail position and anatomy.

Washing and Care
Machine washable at 30°C.
- Use a non-biological detergent.
- Do not use fabric softener.
- Tumble dry on a low setting.
- Do not iron.
- Always check absorbent pads regularly and change when wet or soiled.
Follow the washing instructions for your chosen absorbent pads. A suitable laundry cleanser may be used according to its manufacturer’s instructions.
For extra cleaning/ odour control try Antibacterial Laundry Cleanser which kills 99% of bacteria.
